How to make roses last

1. Trim the stems 2 to 3 cm at an angle with a sharp knife or scissors.
2. Remove leaves that would sit below the waterline.
3. Use a clean vase with fresh, cool water.
4. Change the water every two days and re-trim the stems.
5. Keep roses cool, out of direct sun and away from fruit bowls.
6. Revive a drooping head by re-cutting the stem and standing it in deep water for a few hours.

With good care, Kenyan roses usually last a week or more.
